Welcome Spring!

Spring is here! This is the time of year we all start to get a little giddy waiting for the snow to melt and temps to get a bit warmer to play in the dirt. And while waiting, what perfect timing to attend the annual Quilt Event in Rice Lake. Saturday, April 14th from 9am – 3pm Quilts, food and great vendors just waiting to show and tell you what’s new. I was one of the vendors a few years back and can highly recommend this show. The quilts are stunning and the food yummy. So why not. It’s held at the St. Joseph Church. What a great day to spend with your quilting friends, get out of the house and be inspired! I can’t wait. It’s only the one day, but don’t worry, they serve both breakfast and lunch so your tummy’s won’t be screaming for food and you can enjoy the entire day.

And on to the bags. For March what to do…winter was coming to an end and I wanted something fun for Spring…bright and cheerful. Looking around I saw the salvage tote was overflowing. Lightbulb moment! A salvage bag for March:

I used a lacy zipper. They’re so dang cute! I’m working on pattern and will be happy to share if you want. I was hoping this would make a dent in the tote of salvages, but unfortunately it didn’t. But working with salvages truly becomes addicting. May just have to make a stack of salvage blocks and come up with a plan later.

Received the Spring flyer from Pier I Imports and was paging through and noticed the fabrics used in their Spring collections looked very close to this year’s Wisconsin State Shop Hop wildflowers.  If you haven’t seen the fabric for this year, go to the website.  It’s posted.  Delicate and bright.

Enjoy your week welcoming in Spring!
