Tick Tock – 10 days and Counting

The Wisconsin State Shop Hop is quickly approaching.  It runs June 2nd – June 24th.  The state is divided in six sections and NW WI is section 4.  For those that haven’t participated in a shop hop, let this be the one you select.  There is a line of fabric specifically designed by Holly Taylor of Moda Fabrics for this event.  It is displayed but you may not purchase until the hop begins.  Each shop you visit in Section 4 will give you three 5″ squares of fabric and if you finish the section you will receive a pattern to make using these squares.  We also have designed a pattern book for purchase at $9.95Each shop in the section has designed a project for you to make along with adding a helpful tip and shop recipe for you to try.  Limited edition.  If you want to reserve your copy contact the shop and we’ll hold one with your name until the hop begins.

The monthly “Take & Make” class continues and June 17th is the next class.  Each month you will make a simple applique mug rug using wool and learning a new embroidery stitch to add.  If you would like to sign up contact the shop for more information.  Our next project

I know we haven’t even let Summer begin, but Christmas is arriving and wanted to show you what fun panels in cotton and flannel are here I’m working with both to make projects to entice.

Serge On:  The Coneheads continue to meet the first Thursday of each month making new projects with their sergers and truly learning what they can do.  June we’ll be making a serger machine cover.  They are just so darling.   Contact the shop to sign up.

The featured image is a project from the Quilts & More – Summer 2016 magazine.  Summer is here as we kick off Memorial Weekend.  The shop will be closed Monday (May 29th) for Memorial Day.  I’ll be planting flowers and veggies in the garden…..playing in the dirt!

The classroom continues to be open on Wednesday’s for open sewing.  Feel free to come and sew on whatever your current project is for the day.  Bring your sewing machine and supplies and a lunch as we break for lunch!  Enjoy your week.

Happy Memorial Day, remembering all the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.  God bless them.
