January Thaw

The days are getting longer, the sun is shining bright and we’re in for a thaw after a nasty bout of frigid temps, still too cold to play too long outside but not too early to start on a new Easter Egg wool runner by Bird Brain designs.  So very sweet and I’m now stocking Valdani Pearl Cotton Thread in all colors of the rainbow and everything in between.

If you love working with wool but frustrated with those little pieces slipping about….new to the market place “Patch Stick” glue stick which works wonderfully on wool.  I’m trying it out and loving it.  IMG_0788

And it’s not to early to be thinking of the Minnesota Quilt Show – back in Duluth this June 8th – 10th.  Just got the flyers and books listing classes and events.  So if you’re looking for a road trip, this would be a delightful one to look forward toIMG_0792.

Have a serger and want to get more out of what it can do?  We have a serger group that meets monthly….the Coneheads and after a break we’re getting back at it.  The first project to get you back into the groove will be gift bags.  IMG_0797It’s all in the packaging and what fun to play with some of those prints you have sitting around.  This is a quick simple project and if it’s been a while since you’ve used your serger we’ll get you up to speed.  Call the shop to sign up.  Our first class is Thursday, February 2nd – Groundhog Day.

Will the groundhog see his shadow?  All depends on how much sewing you want to get done before the gardens begin.  But the week will get us giddy with warmer temps, enjoy!  And if you’re in town stop in and see what’s going on.

Enjoy your week, see you soon!
