Happy Valentine’s Day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!  Or as I like to think a “free” day to eat Chocolate with no guilt.  Warmer days filled with sunshine….but living up in the North we know we still have lots of wonderful days to sew and take advantage of learning something new so if you’re ready stop in on Saturday, February 18th for our 1st of eight Mug Rug Wool applique projects.

If you’ve been wanting to get back into embroidery again, this would be the perfect project as we’ll demonstrate simple embroidery stitches playing with wool & flannel to create a fun mug rug starting with a Spring Easter Egg: IMG_0829This pattern is free and we’ll have kits for $5.95.  If you want to make at the shop, bring a small scissor and embroidery needle …..and if you don’t have one we certainly can take care of that.  If this is something you want to do you will need to purchase future patterns and we also have wonderful wool scrap bags to purchase to continue on.

And to entice you further….here’s a little sneak peek at March 18th project:  IMG_0843Pick your favorite or make all four.  Your choice.

If you need a new runner this may be the class for you.  Working with your 8″ log cabin trim tool you can make this project using scraps or we have kits.  You’ll also learn how to make curved blocks and two color bindings!  Contact the shop for more details and to sign up.  IMG_0845

IMG_0822Love the crazy quilt and would like to make one but don’t know where to begin, we’ll be starting a class on February 25th making a pillow to get you going.  First class is the technique from there we’ll meet adding the crazy stitches, ribbons, lace, buttons, beads….if you’re interested, contact the shop to sign up.  This class allows you to be creative and the sky is the limit.

The Moose seems to be the animal of the year and we’ll be making a Moose for each season starting with Spring:  IMG_0844Adding just a hint of embroidered flowers.  You can do this.  Contact the shop to  sign up.

New techniques and projects are so addicting.  Nothing too big just in case “it’s not your cup of tea”.

Hope you’re enjoying this mild winter and sewing like crazy.  Stop in when you can and see what new samples are displayed and what’s new in the marketplace.  Saturday we’ll be having a fun dessert to continue the Sweetheart week….don’t forget to bring your Thimblebucks.  See you soon.
