Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!   Mom’s started teaching and showing us “how to” long before we went off to school.  Why not let the teaching continue.  New gadgets, rulers, techniques are always being introduced and it’s hard to keep up….or if you’re new to quilting and want to learn now is your chance.  Starting next week we’ll be demonstrating a new “how to” each week.  Stop in any time during the week and we’ll show you something new.  Maybe you already know “how to”, but we just might sneak in an “ah ha” moment that will simply delight.  To kick off the “how to” program we’re starting with prairie points.  Swing in anytime during the week see what they are, how they’re made and how they can turn a simple runner into a dazzling table topper!

The Wisconsin State Shop Hop countdown begins…..June 2nd is the kick off.  You will have three full weeks to hop around the state and visit the lovely quilt shops and be inspired.  Section 4 (NW Wisconsin) will be distributing three coordinating 5″ squares at each shop you visit.  They have also published a pattern book which includes a pattern from each shop, helpful tips and great recipes along with three project patterns using your 5″ squares.  Reserve your book now as these are limited.

Time to start looking at your summer runners and if you can’t find them, why not make up a new one.

I’m working on a new wool pot of flowers….They’re just beginning to bloom!

We’re planning some fun classes for those tropical July days …..stay tuned as you won’t want to miss the fun!  And remember, Wednesday’s are open sewing days so plan to spend the day sewing at Thimbles.

Enjoy your week and hope to see you soon!
