“Make Mine Mini” Challenge – deadline for submitting your project is August 31st.  The projects coming in are outstanding.  This challenge was to get you “thinking” and the creativity is awesome.  I’ve even heard from someone who had an idea in mind, tried it, it didn’t work and she had no more fabric to work with!  But do quilters quit?  Absolutely not.  We take a break, think and modify and that’s what she did.  She implemented plan “B”.  Project completed and ready.  And that’s so true with any project.  Sometimes we just need to set it down and work on something else….oh and can that be why we have 6-8 going at any point in time?

Kick off for Fall event at Thimbles – Tuesday, September 6th.  We’ll have a little fall lunch and admire the “Mini’s” and see what “specials” are in store for you.  And if you’re ready sign up for some Fall classes we have scheduled.  They’re a lot of fun and starting in September  the classroom will be available on Wednesday’s to come and sew again.   Put the chores aside, grab an unfinished project, come in and sew with other ladies.  Lots of laughs and you will get some sewing completed.

It’s almost here the event of the season and we’ll be Celebrating our 10th Year….

Falling Leaves Shop Hop starts September 23rd and runs through October 1st.  All shops will be open Sunday, September 25th – 12 noon – 3pm.  Three more shops have joined the group; Deer Park, Clear Lake & Osseo, and each shop you visit you will receive a “FREE” Christmas fat quarter and “FREE” holiday project pattern.  Complete your passport and your name will be entered for great prizes.   So start your scheduling now.

The third and final clue will be given in the upcoming Country Register which will be out September 1st.  My blocks are completed and ready…..

And don’t forget to download your weekly block patterns for the Harvest Mystery Quilt Blog hosted by Farmhouse Threads.  We’ll be starting those blocks in October and will work on them Saturdays starting with October 8th.  We should be able to complete by Christmas.  If  you’ve been working on them all along please bring in and share we may have to have another get together in January to share our Harvest Mystery’s.

Too keep you cool this week, we have a new snowman wallhanging or table topperIMG_0446 (2)It finishes at 33″ x 41″ and uses the new 4″ log cabin trim tool by Creative Grid.  Kits are available.

Enjoy your week.  Stop in when you get a chance.
